The Catching Camp was founded by the late Coach Dave Weaver when he recognized that instruction for the toughest position on the field was generally unavailable to players committed to playing the catcher position.

My name is Jay Weaver and I am the Owner/Co-Founder of The Catching Camp. I want to briefly tell you a little about myself and our Nationwide development program for both baseball and softball catchers.

Our program was founded by myself and my father, the late Coach Dave Weaver when we recognized that instruction for the toughest position on the field was generally unavailable to players committed to playing the catcher position.

We now work with catchers all around the world, youth ages all the way up to the NCAA Div. 1 and MLB ranks, close to 365 days a year. I know from my own experience that over the years it has been difficult to find instruction that dealt specifically with catching.

As a young catcher I attended numerous Pitching/Catching Camps only to find out that there was not much instruction for the catchers. Our main purpose was to be there to catch the pitchers.

We have spent the last two decades as students of the game, researching the biomechanics and physiological advantages behind what we teach and developing drills that will enable catchers to excel if they choose to dedicate themselves and maintain an uncompromised work ethic.

TCC offers catchers a comprehensive development program for the position - providing athletes of all skill levels an unparalleled progression of instruction through several levels of receiving, blocking, throwing, fielding, handling pitchers and calling the game.

Our year-round programs consist of camps around the country as well as private 1-on-1 lessons, live or online. If you have a catcher in the family or on your team and are looking for elite position-specific instruction, look no further, The Catching Camp is for you.
