Senior NECC instructor Jay Weaver will conduct catching clinics on Saturday, November 20th and Sunday, Nov 21st for both baseball and fastpitch softball.

The clinics will consist of instruction on all aspects of catching skills including receiving, blocking, throwing and fielding skills.

The clinics on Sunday will consist of one clinic for softball and one for baseball. These clinics will combine age groups.

Schedule for Saturday, November 20th

8:30AM-11 12U and Younger Boys Baseball (Ages 8-12)

11:30 -2 12U and Younger Girls Softball (ages 8-12)

2:30-5PM 13U and Older Boys Baseball (ages 13-18)

5:30-8pm 14U and Older Girls Softball (Teams 14U,16U,18U)

Schedule for Sunday November 21st (age groups will be combined)

10:00:12:30PM Boys ages 10 and up Baseball Clinic

1:30 -4PM Girls ages 10U and up Softball Clinic

Classes are subject to reorganization based on number of students that sign up.

Additional Private Instruction Available with Coach Jay Weaver 11/22-11/23

Senior Instructor Jay Weaver will be staying in the area Monday and Tuesday if needed to provide private or semi-private lessons to players or teams that are interested. Jay will only be available to students that attended one of the clinics during the weekend.

The New England Catching Camp is excited to announce this year the introduction of a 3 night Winter Vacation Catching Camp to be held at Play Ball in Salem NH.

Ages:

Softball: Any girls 12U-18U (Same group as the afternoon session of summer camp)

Baseball: Any boys 13U and older (Same group as the afternoon session of summer camp)

Here is the perfect opportunity to start to get those skills tuned up for the spring!!

There will be separate camps for baseball and softball catchers.

Dates: December 28, 29, 30

Time: 6PM-9PM each night.

Nationally known catching instructor Jay Weaver, from The New England Catching Camp in Hudson, NH will be coming to Maine Hits in Scarborough, Maine to conduct catching clinics this fall and winter. Jay, Senior Instructor of the camp will conduct clinics that will be held on Saturdays, Nov 7th, Dec 5th, Jan 9th, Feb 6th and March 6th for Baseball and Fast Pitch Softball. NECC has partnered with Millhouse AEP Baseball of Kansas City and Advanced Catching Concepts of Liberty MO to bring this instruction to the baseball and softball catchers of the region.

Coach Weaver will conduct a clinic for coaches showing them what mechanics to teach their catchers and just as important, how to teach it. Coach Weaver will enlist the help of local catchers to allow coaches to see the instruction techniques in use teaching the skills of receiving, blocking, throwing and fielding.

Cost per coach is $59.

The July camp saw 31 catchers attend from 12 different states, Georgia, California, New York, South Carolina, West Virgina, Delaware, Alabama, Penna, North Carolina, New Jersey, Mass, as well as New Hampshire.

The August camp brought us a record 52 catchers. This included 15 girls in the afternoon session, also the largest group of girls we have ever had. The camp also went international this year with a high school fast pitch catcher coming from Canada. We added the states of Vermont, Maine, Illinois, Maryland, Florida, Oklahoma, Connecticut, and Michigan to bring the total to 20 different states represented.
